WATERFALL CHINATA "

SPRING THAT FALLS OF THE SKY"

The Waterfall Chinata, is a wonderful veil of water that he/she comes off from a height 580 meters whose name means "spring that falls of the sky." The geographical environment in which is this waterfall is only and it is characterized by the diversity in its flora, highlighting among these, orchids, ferns and mosses.

Located on 1,300 m.s.n.m., the waterfalls are one of the tourist main attractiveness of the county of Bongará. If he/she takes as reference point to the city of Chachapoyas, it is necessary to go toward Pedro's city Ruiz Rooster, to which you can arrive via car, in 90 minutes approximately, from Pedro Ruiz Rooster 07 kilometers are traveled until San Carlos' district; 20 minutes in car. From San Carlos, the distance until the waterfalls is of 12 kilometers which you travels on foot.

The starting point of the walk toward the waterfall Chinata is San Carlos' town, district of the same name, through a paved road of approximately 2 width meters that it is an on the way to prehispanic origin that is conserved until the present time according to residents of the community. Throughout the journey you can appreciate landscapes characteristic of the Brow of Forest, with a warm and rainy climate, most of the year. The route toward the waterfall is upward in most of its journey and from some strategic points of the road one can obtain the panoramic view of the waterfall. The vegetation of the rocky rising of the waterfall is basically líquenes, mosses and ferns, while in its environment it presents ponas, junjulis, brave chishca, orchids and cortaderas that it serves from habitat to a varied fauna like caracto, colibríes, swallows, butterflies, chosca, snakes, deer, majaz and a species in extinction like the puma.
