The County of Utcubamba was created May of the year 30 1984 by means of law Nº 23843, during the President's segudo government Fernando Belaúnde Terry.
This precise law in the I articulate 1º "Creates in the department of Amazons, in the border County of Bagua, the County of Utcubamba whose capital will be the Town of Big Bagua that rises to the city category. He articulates 2º it describes that the following districts that at the moment they belonged to the County of Bagua and starting from the present law they conform the County of Utcubamba; Big Bagua with their Big capital Bagua, Cajaruro with their capital Cajaruro, Big Lonya with their capital the populated center of Big Lonya, Cumba with their capital the populated center of cumba, Jamalca with their capital the populated center of Jamalca, Yamón with their capital the populated center of Yamón and the district of the Miracle with their capital the populated center the Miracle, this last with the present law."

The river Marañón has an approximate journey of 1411 km., it is the second river of longitude of Peru, the tributaries of the river Marañón is: north (river Morona, Pastasa and Tiger); south (Huallaga).

MOUNTAIN RANGE COLÁN
Settled down in March of the 2002 on a total of 64114.74 hectares belong to the districts of Imaza, Aramango and Copallín of the county of Bagua; and the district of Cajaruro, county of Utcubamba. The area reserved Mountain range Colán is one of the protected most recent areas created by the state.
The reservation assures the manteamiento of the balance hídrico in a lacking region of water and subject to a recent populational pressure of use of lands. One has as objective to maintain representative arrangements of the dry forests of the valley Marañón and their endemic species.
PAINTINGS RUPESTRES DE YAMÓN

CAVERN OF GOOD AIR
To arrive at the cavern of Buenos Aires, he/she leaves of Chachapoyas toward Big (3 hours 30 min) Bagua. After Big Bagua to Miraflores (1 hour 10 min). LAGOON OF THEY DECEIVE

CAVERN THE I PLANE

The Hill Torita is kind of a natural turret that carries out a mirador function, from where one can observe the valley of so much Utcubamba of Cajaruro and Big Bagua, being also contemplated the valley of Huarangopampa, lands that are fertile for the River Utcubamba. In the summit of the hill he/she is a cross that was put to be liberated of the plague of lobsters, history that is described in the population's legends.
Now at the present time a bigger cross has been built next to the grotto of the previous cross, this made of cement, the same one that one can observe far to those from Big Bagua.
