The department of Ancash understands from a coastal not very uneven fringe until the snowy ones more high of Peru.

In the Alley of Huaylas, located blinding valley between two mountainous chains, the Mountain range Blanca and the Black Mountain range, picturesque and gentle cities like Recuay extend, Carhuás, Yungay and Carás, while the active city of Huarás, capital of Ancash, is the urban and commercial center of the area.

In the department he/she settled the culture Chavín among the years 1200 and 200 to.C, the one that left as legacy the impressive one complex archaeological of Chavín of Huántar, Cultural declared Patrimony of the Humanity for UNESCO in 1985.

Throughout the whole area the most spectacular can be observed snowy, among them Huascarán (6768 msnm), the highest pick in Peru. Besides having thermal sources and spectacular lagoons as those of Llanganuco, the area is ideal to practice adventure sports as canotaje, andinismo, mountain bike or trekking.

The National Park Huascarán, Natural declared Patrimony of the Humanity for UNESCO, it preserves in their beautiful scenarios to wild species as the condor, the vicuña, the deer, the puma, the Andean fox and the vizcacha.
