DISTRICT DE CURAHUASI


Curahuasi is a rural town of you are they Peruvian, this located between the city of Cusco and Abancay. It is one of the 9 districts of the County of Abancay, Department of Apurimac.

It is near the 2600 msnm, in the high part of a valley whose river, Tambohuaycco, is flowing of the river Apurímac. The valley gives a panorama very peculiar to the visitor, for the whitish intense green color that you/they give the cultivations of the anisette of excellent quality and very celebrated in the region, reason why also it is denominated to Curahuasi like World Capital of the Anisette.

It is postulated that their name is of Quechua Spanish origin and it means House of the Priest; another translation would be that it cures it comes from ccora that means grass or bush in Quechua and huasi is house, on the whole it would be something like that like valley of grass or house of grass; one presumes that in this valley they had many classes from healing, until groceries.
