LARI


The district of Lari is one of the nineteen districts that conform the county of Caylloma in the Department of Arequipa, belonging to the Region Arequipa in Peru.

In Lari you can appreciate Pure Concepción's Temple, a colonial temple of style románico, it is one of the most spectacular of the valley of Colca, powerful and hefty, the stability of their ship, the arms transepto, presbytery and the dome reach a grade of purification remarcable. It has a plant in form of Latin cross, with the arms of the transepto to the same height of their only ship. The roof of its ship is of canyon vault, with arches fajones that rest on lateral pilasters. It possesses two towers of square plant, each one with a single steeple that you/they finish off in capulín and pinnacles in the ends. The facade is one of the singularest of the valley and certainly only among all the mestizo constructions of the viceroyalty of Peru. It is composed of a very marked nártex that advances on the facade line, covering the cover with a Roman arch on solid machones. In what refers to the towers, it is necessary to point out that between the end of the cube and the beginning of the steeples you a frieze happens to relief in form of lis flowers, separated by three vertical lines. The decoration of the facade main preserve almost entirely their painting mural, which has been developed on a yellow bottom in which images are appreciated in white, green and red colors. The interior of this temple still preserve their ornamental paintings murals so much in the plesbítero, like in the piles after the ship. The biggest altar and the lateral ones carved in stone are exemplary original policromados that are in the traffic between the Baroque and the neoclassicist, constituting one of the achieved moments in the south Andean retablería of the second half of the XVIII century. The architectural preponderance of this temple is very linked to the historical distinction of Lari like belonging to a superior hierarchy among Collaguas. Nowadays, the temple of Lari The facade of feet - that is the main one - it is one of the singularest of the valley and certainly, only among all those of mestizo buildings of the Viceroyalty of Peru. It is the only one where you ended up completing the program of the appearance in Latin cross with cruises and dome in the temples of the Canyon of Colca.

The "Cathedral of Colca" is denominated by its big dimensions, imposing buttresses, vaults of run canyon, reinforced with arches fajones and mainly, the dome of half orange, only in the whole Valley of Colca that covers the cruise.
