PALACIO OF INCA ROCK
(Stone of the 12 angles)
Archaeological remains of Hatunrumiyoc (Stone of the 12 angles).- It is a built wall with the type of stone green" "diorita, located in the exterior of the palace attributed to Inca Rock. The wall is admirable for its polygonal architecture whose front almost embraces the whole street Hatunrumiyoc.
It is characterized because to the center of the wall the stone of the twelve angles is located, famous for the perfect assembling of its corners and sides with the other stones.
This wall has overlapping of colonial and republican wall, and at the moment it is part of Palacio Arzobispal - Museum of Art. (Location: Street Hatunrumiyoc s/n, 2 cdras. of the Square of Weapons).
Hatunrumiyoc is known because in him he/she is the famous "stone of the twelve angles." The palace was located in the corner of the streets Hatunrumíyoc and Ironworks that at the moment is occupied by Palacio Arzobispal and for a museum of colonial art open to the public.
Here, the architects should build a platform to even the land, since there it begins to sharpen their slope toward San Blas. A worthy work of seeing since has recovered the walls this and south of the platform thanks to the works of cleaning.
Although most of the front of Ironworks has gotten lost, it is still a perimeter of 190 meters surrounding the platform, the same one that exhibits the ability of the engravers of the empire and their aesthetic matter.
The contention wall is a formidable sample of the one it assembles polygonal of the stones; that used, only, the Inca to build support walls. We will be able to also notice that in the south wall, the one assembles polygonal it is not structural, but an it veneers that it covers a coarse wall that makes of support.
