ARCHAEOLOGICAL COMPLEX TIPON
MAIN SOURCE OF IT DILUTES

The North American engineer Kenneth Wright, famous for their engineering studies in Machu Picchu, in their called book "Tipón, a Work of art of the Hydraulic Engineering in the Inca" Empire, (written jointly with their wife Ruth and Gordon McEwan) highlights the importance of the handling of the water in an agricultural society as the Incan one, due to the variations climatic product of phenomena as The Boy and Niña that took to the improvement of hydraulic techniques for the best use in this resource, in a process that accumulated 3500 years of experience. He/she also studies with minuciocidad, the complex system of irrigation of Tipón, the knowledge of the flows and the slopes and the enormous infreaestructura works that were made to water this vast group efficiently.

An example of it is it the group of sources that distributes the water in a homogeneous way. Leaving of a ceremonial source, the water reflects through a channel to be divided in two and then in four slopes.

Other channels are insertos in the walls of the terraces.

The Inca engineers used different slopes, width and depth of the channels to control the speed of the water, to distribute their fall and they used the inclination of the walls to diminish their erosion on the stone.

Just as a guide it showed us, for example, the water reflects slowly for the channels, but of it spreads for the cascades with speed, thanks to the control of the slopes.

THE MEANING OF THE WATER

The handling of the water in Tipón was not only efficient and effective, but he/she had a meaning expressed in the beauty of its sources, in the location and number of its pouring ones and even for the acoustics of the same ones.

The main source presents 4 slopes. There are many interpretations about the same ones, they could represent at the 4 his, or to the 4 siblings Ayar founders of the empire. It is impressive how the four slopes reflect to the same speed, to almost 500 years of the conquest of the Incan empire.
