THE AQUEDUCTS AND FILTERING GALLERIES


They are channels or galleries of water, built by you old Nasca and spread to capture the water of the underground and to transport it toward the surface, following a graduate slope. 2 types of aqueducts exist: One type zanjón or open cut, and the other type of underground gallery. They possess a height average of 0.90m. and a width of 0.60m. Their roof is constituted with the help of big blocks of flat stones and in some sections it has been used "huarangos" trunks, wooden very strong tree that is plentiful in the area.

In the basin of the Big River they exist more than 130 aqueducts and channels. The aqueducts that can visit one another are: Bisambra, I Attribute, Ocongalla and Cantalloc.
