THE MILLS

The place of The Mills was identified Early (0-250 d.C.) as the regional center (administrative) of the Period Nasca. The excavations in area detected two sectors with terraces, patios, enclosures and corridors with the typical characteristics of formal architecture. They were used by an approximately 100 year-old period and then abandoned due to their destruction for strong rains. Later on, the buildings were reutilizados like funeral area. In a cemetery near the center of The Mills were other funerals of the same period. In total, they were documented more than 50 funeral contexts in The Mills, half of them still intact.
