TECAPA


Tecapa, it is considered at the present time as a village, nevertheless this, is one of the oldest towns in San José's district. This town according to the history, was an important town of Indians in the jequetepeque valley, it shows of that they are the archaeological ruins found in its environment. The lands of Tecapa were inhabited by Indians that the occupation of several cultures like Chimú and Inca also suffered, it is said that the name of this town owes it to its cacique Tecapec.
