CLIMATE
The city of Iquitos has a warm and rainy climate during the whole year. The temperature annual half maxim is of 31°C (88ºF) and the annual minimum stocking of 21°C (70ºF) The epócases of emptying (July-November) and of growing (December-July) they present matters differences in flora, fauna and climate.

ROADS OF ACCESS
When not having highway, Iquitos is accessible for air and for river.
Air: Regular flights to Iquitos from:
Lima (1 hour and 30 minutes)
Tarapoto (50 minutes)

Non regular flights from Yurimaguas (40 minutes) and from Leticia's city, in Colombia (1 hour).

Fluvial:
From Pucallpa (Port Hoyada, to 2,5 km of the city), via the river Ucayali, with stopped in the ports of Requena and Contamana in glider (small but quick craft, with capacity for 10 to 15 people) that is hired as particular service delays 1 or 2 days, depending on the level of the river; boat or "motonave", (big but slow craft, with capacity for 250 people) delay 4 or 5 days, depending on the current of the river.
From Yurimaguas, via the rivers Huallaga and Marañón, with a stop in the port of Nauta. It can be in glider (12 at 15 hours depending on the caballaje of the motor) or in boat or "motonave (from 3 to 4 days depending on the level of the rivers)."

TOURIST ATTRACTIVENESS DE MAYNAS

Main Church
Square of Weapons of Iquitos.

Amazon Museum

Built in 1863. They highlight in the museum the succession of big windows finished in arches of half point and protected by strong iron bars, the interior walls decorated with carved wood, and the furniture designed to the usage of the time. It conserves a collection of more than 80 sculptures of glass fiber in natural size, representing to the ethnic main groups of Peruvian, Brazilian Amazonía and Venezuelan and pictures that depict the history of the city of Iquitos. The local is shared with the Military Museum.

Amazon Library

It has editions of specialized diverse areas, fototeca, hemeroteca, cinemateca, mapoteca, pinacoteca, exhibition of historical objects and collect of old editions of the Bible. Requena
To 157 km of Iquitos, in the fork of the rivers Tapiche and Ucayali (19 hours in boat)

Lake Rimachi

TOURIST ATTRACTIVENESS OF COUNTY DE UCAYALI

Contamana is located to 431 km of Iquitos (3 days) and 12 hours in boat from Pucallpa, in the right margin of the river Ucayali.

Its name in dialect shipibo means "hill of palms" and it is about one of the fluvial most important ports in the area. It has basic services to assist the tourists.

The Mirador of the Neighborhood of Jerusalem

Caballococha

Nauta

To 115 km of Iquitos (waterway), it is located in the left margin of the river Marañón, to some seven miles of their fork with the river Ucayali.

Been founded in 1830, it is one of the populated oldest centers in our Amazonía. River Amazons

National Pacaya Reserves Samiria

To 183 km to the Southwest of Iquitos. The route but it cuts it is by lorry Iquitos-Nauta and for waterway from Nauta until the Community February (15 hours in boat or 4 hours in glider) 20. To be consented he/she should request the permission before INRENA and to pay the corresponding rights.

He/she has a half monthly temperature between the 20°C (68ºF) and the 33°C (91ºF) and an annual precipitation from 2000 to 3000 mm, what allows their biological great diversity: 527 species of birds, 102 species of mammals (among them the rosy dolphin) 69 species of reptiles, 58 species of amphibians, 269 species of fish and 1024 species of wild and cultivated plants. The reservation is refuge of threatened diverse species or in extinction danger like the charapa (Podocnemis expansa), the maquisapa (Ties them sp.), the river (Pteronura brasiliensis) wolf, the red (it Plows macao) macaw and the cedar (to Give it odorata), among other.

National Allpahuayo.Mishana Reserves

I enter to 26,5 km of Iquitos for the highway Iquitos-Nauta (30minutos in car). Leaving from the port of Bellavista Nanay, 2 or 3 hours, depending on the caballaje of the motor.

This reservation of hardly 58,000 has it protects the biggest concentration of forests of white sand or well-known "varillales" in Peruvian Amazonía, where numerous unique species of plants and animals live. It also protects a sample of the forests inundables for the black waters of Nanay, only in Peruvian Amazonía.

This reservation contains a biological enormous and peculiar wealth, and they highlight numerous species of plants and endemic animals and of restricted distribution, many of them still without scientific description.

They have registered until the moment more than 1780 species of plants, 522 species of butterflies, 155 species of fish, 83 species of amphibians, 120 species of reptiles, 476 species of birds and 145 species of mammals, among those that highlight two endemic species of primates equatorial (Pithecia aequatorialis) Huapo and black (Callicebus Lucifer) Stump. Continually they are new discovered species of plants and animals.

Among the birds they highlight two dozens that alone they inhabit forests of white sand and that they were ignored in Peru until hardly one half a decade ago. In the last five years four species of new birds have been described for the science associated with forests of white (three species of anthills, Herpsilochmus gentryi, Percnostola arenarum and Myrmeciza chatter) sand and an atrapamoscas (Zimmerius villarejoi); there is a fifth that is still in description (Polioptila clementsi). To these it is necessary to not add another dozen of species of birds known before in Peru, as the beautiful cotinga (Xipholena punicea) and the manakin (Neopelma chrysocephalum)
