The city of Iquitos is the capital of the County of Maynas.

Main Church
Square of Weapons of Iquitos.

Pier Tarapacá or Boulevard
To a block of the Square of Weapons, beside river Itaya. It dates of the time of the peak of the rubber. From there one has an attractive panorama of this river and of the floating neighborhood of Nativity and in their journey historical important monuments, restaurants and coffees can be observed. Amazon Museum

Built in 1863. They highlight in the museum the succession of big windows finished in arches of half point and protected by strong iron bars, the interior walls decorated with carved wood, and the furniture designed to the usage of the time. It conserves a collection of more than 80 sculptures of glass fiber in natural size, representing to the ethnic main groups of Peruvian, Brazilian Amazonía and Venezuelan and pictures that depict the history of the city of Iquitos. The local is shared with the Military Museum.

It has editions of specialized diverse areas, fototeca, hemeroteca, cinemateca, mapoteca, pinacoteca, exhibition of historical objects and collect of old editions of the Bible. Port and Nativity Town
Located in the left margin of the river Itaya, to the southeast of the city of Iquitos.

Port Almond
To 12 km from the hut of control of the airport of Iquitos (30 minutes in car) Deviation 100 m before Quistococha.
There he/she is the Botanical Garden Arboretum Huayo, administered by the Center of Investigation and Teaching Forest Port Almond. Sacred Village Tomás
To 16 km to the Southwest of Iquitos (45 minutes in car).
It is located beside the channel that communicates with the river Nanay and the lake Mapacocha, and it is a good place to ski, to go for a walk in glider, in boat or in canoe; in their proximities a motocross circuit exists. The area is inhabited by a rural community of the ethnos Cocama Cocamilla whose economic main activities are the fishing and the pottery.

Sacred Clara
To 12 km to the south of Iquitos, beside the river Nanay (30 minutes in car).Deviation 500 m before the airport.
In time of emptying (July-November) when the flow of the river descends Nanay, they are formed in front of the community and in other places of the area beautiful beaches of sand white ideals to swim to sunbathe and where it is possible to camp. It is one of the most attractive places in the surroundings of Iquitos.

Lake Rumococha
To 4 km of the hut of control of the airport of Iquitos, on the riverbank Nanay (15 minutes in car).

Handmade Market of San Juan

Pier Bellavista Nanay
To the north of Iquitos (10 minutes in mototaxi). In the right margin of the river Nanay.
From this crafts weigh anchor toward different destinations like the ethnic community Boras of San Andrés and Father's rural communities Cocha and Manacamiri, where they are carried out recreations of traditions for tourist ends. Father Cocha

Farm of Butterflies Pilpintuwasi
To 15 minutes on foot from Father Cocha. Visits: Ma-D: 9 -17:00. Last guided visit of the day to those 16:00 hours.
Quechua word that means "House of the Butterflies." It houses more than 40 varieties of exotic butterflies in a surrounded beautiful habitat of fallen of water and tropical flowers. It can visit one another the place and to observe the interesting process of the reproduction of butterflies, besides plants medicinal and ornamental, as well as diverse birds and species of monkeys, a tapir, a bear anthill and an otorongo.

Boras of San Andrés

In the area it is possible to acquire local craft.
