DISTRICT DE RICH VILLAGE


Rich Villa is one of the districts of the county of Oxapampa, it is to 71 km to the south of Oxapampa, it is characterized by the production of coffee, pineapple and rocoto and he/she has beautiful falls of water.

Initially the County of Oxapampa was inhabited by native Amueshas (Yaneshas) to the West, by Campas (Ashaninkas) to the East and the northeast for native of the tribe of Cashibos ethnic nomadic, completely differential groups.

By the middle of the XVII century the Franciscans began their evangelizing action in the forest, ending up establishing Missions in Chanchamayo, Perené, Huancabamba, Great Pajonal, High Ucayali, etc. In 1742 the rebellion of the native ones led by Juan Santos Atahualpa that I last 13 years takes place and it reduced to all the missions. In 1763 they recover the missions, propitiating the establishment of Colonists (farmers of the mountain) in the valley of Huancabamba.

In 1859, Julio 25, the first Colonists coming from the regions of Tyrol (Austria) and Prussia (Germany) arrive to the area of Pozuzo due to the liberation war against France.

In 1890 the Government Propitiates the construction of the road Pichis, on the way to horseshoe among San Luis Shuaro and Port Bermúdez.

In 1891, I Wither 30, Colonists coming from Pozuzo found the City of Oxapampa.

In 1925, Julio 28, Colonists of Pozuzo and Oxapampa found the city of Rich Villa.
