SQUARE OF WEAPONS DE CATACAOS


In the surroundings of the Square of Weapons of Catacaos he/she is the Church Saint John the Baptist and the Municipality of Catacaos. Chira that before and after these events it continued fighting in the judicial stages and in the face of the authorities so that respects the rights of their represented, it consented. This way and after returning the captain their 100 pesos, the Indians for mediation of the high school Died, they achieved the free existent lands between Tacalá and Muñuela, paying 500 pesos.

The writer cataquense Juan Jacobo Cruz, referring to the priest's work Died, he/she says "that it was not neglected neither the social aspect neither the religious of their sacred ministry and that it organized and he/she swore in to ten brotherhoods. It began, equally, the reconstruction of the temple wasted with the earthquake of 1,630 and I teach to the Indians to knit straw hats, hiring experts of Celendín so that they made them know the techniques of that work.

Catacaos has honored the memory of this benefactor of its inhabitants, erecting him/her a monument in the square of weapons that according to the writer Cruz Villegas, ended in 1888 to initiative of Dr. Manuel Yarlequé Espinosa, running its execution in charge of the Peruvian sculptor Antonio Oaks.

Also the national school, of Catacaos takes this good priest's name.
