HISTORICAL IMPORTANT DATA DE PIURA
The most important culture that was developed in the area of Piura was Vicus, which stood out for its ceramic and delicate goldwork.
In 1532, Francisco Pizarro was founded in the valley of Tangarará beside the river Chira the first Spanish city with San Miguel's name.
Later on, he/she moved the city then to the Mount of the Parents (Chulucanas) to the port of Paita, but before the blockade of pirates and corsairs, don Juan of Cadalzo founded the current city of Piura definitively. giving to the name of San Miguel of Piura of Villar.
January 4 1821 were proclaimed the independence of Piura.
TOURIST MAIN ATTRACTIVENESS
In the City of Piura:
The Cathedral.- It dates of the colonial time and he/she keeps paintings of Ignacio Merino, as that of San Martin of Clubs and Virgin María. Catacaos.- To 12 Km. of Piura, typical town of ingrained customs. It highlights for their craft in straw fabrics and cotton, and especially for their filigrees in gold and silver. In this city they are traditional excellent picanterías.Archaeological remains of Narihual.- To 5 Km. to the south of Catacaos, possible cult place or strength of the tallanes.Sullana.- To 38 Km. of the city of Piura, of warm climate. The river Chira has created a rich vega where the coconut trees and other fruits are plentiful.Paita.- To 57 Km. to the west of Piura, bay of wide beach and with spas like: Colán, Esmeralda and Yacila. The port of Paita has an excellent one complex fishing.Talara.- To 120 Km. of Piura, it is the oil most important center in Peru. The export of the petroleum is carried out in earth and in the continental town square.Sechura.- To 55 Km. of Piura. Natural Reservorio of the river Piura, of very picturesque landscape and attractiveness.Church San Martin of Sechura.- Located in the capital of the district of Sechura. It was built in the time of the viceroyalty and artistic jewel is considered of it is time.Huaringas.- In the heights of the county of Huancabamba and to 214 Km. of Piura and to 1,953 m.s.n.m., conformed by a series of lagoons of miner-medicinal waters.
