THE DISTRICT DE ITE


The district of Ite, this located in Jorge's County Basadre, distant to 95 km for the coastal road, to the north of the department of Tacna, in the territorial limit with Moquegua (county of Ilo).

Their coordinates are South Latitude: 17º50'27", Longitude West: 70º57'47" and their altitude: 175 msnm, he/she has a surface of 848,34 km2.

Lima for the East: District of Locumba, for the West: Ocean Pacific, for the South: District of Sama Yaras and for the North: County of Ilo (Moquegua)

The Beaches of Ite

In Ite, of north to south find beautiful beaches of fine sand and calm sea, with incoming rocky, among her we have to beach Meca of moderate surf. In Sand Blanca, one can also enjoy an open extensive beach.

Archaeological Remains

In recent explorations, specialists have found archaeological remains as tools, tips of projectiles, petroglifos, textile and ceramic, that will allow to build an archaeological museum.

This remains can be in different parts of the district: In the sector Alfarillo is axes, hammers, quartz knives, beat lithic. In the denominated place Icuy one can observe human skeletons of the period formative, Equally attractive petroglifos recorded in stones.

In the sector fishing Tip Picata, the most important petroglifos in the district is located. They are the only conchilla quarries worked for construction blocks in the periods Hispanic pre.

They are also ceramic fragments, quartz tips, esterillas fabric, establishments and cemeteries of every cultural period. In the area of Tacahuay, you can locate fragments of iron pot, decorated ceramic, projectile tips, knives, lithic tools, desconchadotes and metallic objects.

In Huaca Moon, they are ceramic remains and colonial flagstone, colonial oven of mud, stone weights, metallic tablespoons, shovel of metallic tablespoon, etc. The sector Hill Firedog, has bony remains, you count of turquoise and shells, stone plates, flagstone and colonial ceramic, vessel border, ceramic made in lathe. In Pampas Ite, was remains of Inca ceramic it diagnoses drawn, establishments and Inca tambo, human bones, wastes of textile of cotton and jute, cemetery Hispanic pre of Ite, structure of stone of the late period with figures.

Finally, Creek Meca, was an establishment characterized by conchales and tombs, it presents decorated ceramic remains and without decorating of every period, textile of cotton in camélidos fiber, fabrics vegetables or esterillas, bony remains, etc.
