LANGOSTINERAS AND THEIR IMPACT IN THE SWAMP

As for the mangrove pruning, the responsible ones have been mainly the managers langostineros who exercised their biggest impact in the decade of the years 1980. The pruning had for object to make ponds of upbringing that were near to the sure source of water: the tidelands. The farmers, mainly rice, they have also had their blame part in this process, when expanding the rice areas toward the swamps through an imperceptible pruning that meter advances to meter by force of machete.

Besides the pruning, one of the most harmful effects in the ecosystem of the swamp, as well as in the sea in front of the costs of you Knock down, it is the systematic exterminación of alevines and larvas of marine species, what causes a progressive impoverishment of the aquatic mean. This has been caused, partly, for the intense extraction of prawn larvas, demanded by the langostineros and extracted by well-known people as larveros.

The larveros uses an apparel called "airplane", made of a net of very small holes and crimsom color. When they reach a considerable size, the larvas of prawn born sea inside come closer instinctively to the coast in search of the tidelands. There about thirty days will pass, strengthening in their rich waters in nutritious and safe of depredadores. It is then that the larveros, walking with the water to the waist, they pull their airplanes unfailingly during the day for the beaches tumbesinas, but they cannot avoid to also catch alevines and larvas of marine many species, those that end up spread once on the sand concluded the classification of the capture. The result is the pillaging indiscrimada of infinity of species and a poorer sea for the coming generations.

Besides the already mentioned, he/she subtracts to say that the number of people that you/they depend on this ecosystem to maintain to their families, either fishing or extracting prawns or black shells or crabs, it has been increased. The extractors penetrate every time until the deepest areas in the swamp in search of mollusks and crustaceans, they place more nets crossing the tidelands, they extract smaller shells and more tender basses.

The scenario appeared desalentador, until some years ago the things began to change... and it stops well. The transformation happened in the correct address, but not for that the langostineros or the larveros took full conscience of the damage that you/they were infringing to the swamps. They were circumstances characteristic of their mean those that made that the swamp stopped to go back. The magic regulation of the nature began to take place.

At the beginning of the years 1990, the langostineros began to notice that the rapturous lands to the swamps were not good for the upbringing of prawns. Their high iron contenmido caused low yields. Little by little, an important part of the area originally talada began to be abandoned. The mangrove had the road open to the recovery. The nature took charge of the rest. The flow and reflux of the tides made arrive its floating seeds until the abandoned lands. The reconquest of its old domains had begun.

Of a lot of help it was the phenomenon The Boy of 1998, that made headway to the waters destroying the contention walls made by the man. It, next to a new legislation that prohibited the mangrove pruning, although this has grown in areas supposedly dedicated to the industry langostinera, it contributed to their recovery. It became more and more common that organizations environmentalists, in coordination with companies langostineras, began to make reforestation campaigns. Some inlcuso decided to undertake tasks of afforestation, that is to say, to sow mangrove there where before there was not.
