It was inaugurated in 1990, donation of that of the Foundation Emilio Odebrecht of Brazil. The exhibition museográfica corresponds to recovery works and of archaeological investigation recovered in the mark of the execution of the Archaeological Project Rent "Huaca Sipán" from 1987 to the date, as: the discovery of the remains of the "Mr. of Sipán" with their funeral context of ornaments, headdresses, emblems, attires of gold, silver, stones semipreciosas, ceramic and funeral retinue; the oldest tomb in the "Old one Mr. of Sipán" with ornaments and range symbols; and other elite tombs like that of the Priest, mythical man-bird and other funerals of military bosses. Thanks to the restoration works, the original splendor has been returned to this legacy lambayecano that today can observe through the splendid exhibition.

The museum presents a consistent collection in metal (I pray and tumbago) objects - whose discovery corresponds to the Archaeological Project of the years 1991, 1992 and 1995, in the "Sanctuary Archaeological Forest of Pomac." It also includes organic material and ceramic. The permanent exhibition is centered in the town Sicán and its culture. The recreation of the tombs of the noble bosses Sicán is observed, dioramas of the domestic life, the process of the ceramic, metals, most of the objects is shown in its context.

The Archaeological sanctuary of Pachacamac, had great importance from its early occupation toward 200 a.C., until the arrival of the Spaniards in 1533, but it is good known to have been the Inca most important Sanctuary in Central Costa. It houses the most complete and rich collection in the process archaeological and historical Peruvian, including the most numerous collection in ceramios of Old Peru with topics of daily vivencias as the music, religion, agriculture, war, sexuality and others. The archaeological exhibition understands the sequences: Period Initial, Formative (they highlight Estela of Raimondi and the Shaft Tello); Pukara salts, Paracas Salts, Moche / Lima Salts, it Salts Technology Metalúrgica, Wari Salts, Chancay / Chimú Salts, the one renovated Tawantinsuyo Salts, it Salts Amazon. The corridors are used to expose other cultural developments, as well as prehispanic technology. In the section of the Colony it highlights the synthesis of the most outstanding topics on society, economy and viceregal culture, besides the collection of canvases of the School Cusqueña. In the one Renovated it Salts Republic they are works of Daniel Hernádez, Francisco Laso, Carlos Luggage rack Flower, José Sabogal, Road Brent, Julia Codesido among other. This museum is located in the Natural Park of Pucallpa and it conserves some representative species of the local flora and a great collection of fossil remains found in the rivers Ucayali, Pachitea, Aguaitía and Urubamba (one of the biggest attractions is the jaw of a megaterio that Amazonía inhabited about 10 million years ago). Among the rooms of the museum one highlights dedicated to the exhibition of cultural samples of the ethnic groups of the Region (traditional gears or ceramic pieces Shipibo - Conibo).
